October 2019 - GES, an A2LA/ASHTO accredited/TxDOT administratively qualified, geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing and inspection (CMT) firm partnered with Kimley-Horn, one of the nation's premier planning and design consultanting firms, to host an impressive networking event Thursday, October 17, 2019. The NAIOP Fall Event pre-party event was held at the Oyster Bar at Prohibition.
November 2019 - GES was selected by Dunaway to provide geotechnical services for six City of Dallas Sprayground parks located in neighborhoods across the city. Each site was unique and presented its own challenges, including inclement weather, limited site accessibility and coordinating with active neighboring elementary schools. The projects were on a fast track. They had to be designed, approved and constructed in less than a year. The six new sprayground parks were opened this summer.
September 2019 - GES VPs Jeanne Jullien and Chuck Salsky participated in a special reception and tour at the San Jacinto College, Pasadena, hosted by Turner Industries, in conjunction with the Economic Alliance Houston Port Region forum. The instructive tour highlighted the technical progressions available to oil and gas students and demonstrated the use of wall-sized images as part of the educational process.
December 2019 - GES recently completed testing and inspection services on the 3300 Main Street project for PM Realty Group. This 29-story tower is the newest residential high rise in the Midtown area of Houston, Texas and features 328 multifamily units with ground floor retail space along Main Street.
December 2019 - Wall panels are standing at Kennedy Greens Distribution Center 1! GES is pleased to have performed the geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing for this new 524,000 SF north Houston warehouse building. This project adds to GES' unmatched resume of having provided engineering and testing services on over 45,000,000 SF of completed tilt wall warehouse building space in the greater Houston area.
September 2019 - The REDNews 2nd Annual Women in Real Estate Houston Summit on September 24, 2019 proved educational and motivating as our own GES Team Members, Anahita Goudarzi and Jeanne Jullien attended. Panel discussions focused on topics such as: Celebrating Female Pioneers in the Commercial Real Estate Industry; Current Workplace Issues Faced by Women; State of the Market – Commercial Real Estate; and Measuring Women’s Success in the Industry: What We Know Today.
December 2019 - GES’s DFW Team Members - Saurav Sinha, Sayak Sinha and Jenell Strachan attended the 2019 SAME Small Business Conference for Federal Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Facility Maintenance / Management Industry. Organized each year by the Society of Military Engineers (SAME), this is one of the largest conferences bringing together federal agencies and businesses operating in the federal marketplace. The 2019 event was hosted at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Federal agencies participating included the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; Naval Facilities Engineering Command; Air Force Civil Engineer Center; Department of Veterans Affairs; Veterans Health Administration; Department of Energy; General Services Administration; Department of State; Small Business Administration; Environmental Protection Agency; Federal Emergency Management Agency; and National Aeronautics & Space Administration. The 2019 SBC offered unparalleled value and was a huge success with over 3,500 attendees and 350 exhibitors.
October 2019 - GES’ (www.ge-services.net) Sayak Sinha and Saurav Sinha attended 'The Future of Transportation Dallas-Fort Worth' which was a Joint meeting of SMPS Dallas, SMPS Fort Worth and WTS DFW on the 25th of September at the DART headquarters in downtown Dallas. It was a very insightful experience and a great networking event for our GES’ engineers, interacting with peers and panelists before and after the discussion. The panel focused on: near and long-term visions for transportation infrastructure development in North Texas and the opportunities relative to the projects. In depth discussion on planning and socio-economic impacts of the proposed high speed rail line between North Texas and Houston was very informative as well. September 2019 - GES is pleased to be working with Alston Construction on the 626,000 Square Foot Bayport South Building 1 project for Panattoni Development. Building pad earthwork, totaling over 130,000 cubic yards, is nearly complete and foundation construction is underway. GES performed the geotechnical investigation for the project and is providing materials testing and inspection services during construction.
November 2019 - GES' Jeanne Jullien ramped it up at the 2-day Women in Transportation (WTS) "Chapter Training for Today's Leaders" in Denver November 7-8. Transportation will be essential to ensure security, accessibility, and opportunity for years to come and requires leaders to be innovative, creative, explorers of new ideas, and compassionate. Several important topics covered were programs, governance, foundation, membership, fundraising, board management and treasurer responsibilities.
October 2019 - GES team members Jenell Strachan and Chuck Salsky recently attended a powerful one-day Infraday South Forum where over 300 senior executives, financiers, consultants, constructors, engineers and technology innovators united with local, state and federal authorities to discuss new opportunities and the most critical issues facing the transportation and infrastructure markets today. For GES, in addition to Chuck Salsky's role as the moderator for the Road Infrastructure Panel, Infraday provided a great opportunity to showcase our service lines, including geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and inspection, and laboratory testing. It was interesting to hear about infrastructure projects being built as well as to discuss current challenges being faced with Panels comprised of Government officials.

November 2019 - GES Team Members Jeanne Jullien and Chuck Salsky are among those pictured below along with the ACRP/SIOR/ CREW Keynote luncheon speaker Army Major Lisa Jaster - one of the first women to attend the rigorous and prestigious Army Ranger School. Jaster's Keynote, "Don't Let the Quit In", addressed how despite her many trials, at the age of 37, she battled her way through Ranger School for six months overcoming a training course that humbles most men. Jaster maintains that quitting was never an option. Thanks to Marty McAdams for the photos and his comment on the keynote: "Her quote from one of America's greatest thinkers and risk takers that "A ship is safest in the harbor; but that's not where it belongs," is probably a takeaway that can inspire us all to keep pushing our boundaries to success in every aspect of our lives.

October 2019 - Vivek Chikyala, P.E., represented Gorrondona Engineering Services, Inc. at the 13th Annual Bike Around the Bay hosted by Galveston Bay Foundation and sponsored by Shell. The event was a great success with approximately $500,000 raised to assist in the preservation of the Bay. Vivek and many others covered 180 miles in two days, October 12-13, 2019.

The speakers talked about transportation challenges, opportunities and solutions. November 2019 - GES served as the geotechnical consultant on the rail line Station at Terminal B located at DFW International Airport. The new 27-mile TEXRail commuter line extends from downtown Fort Worth, across northeast Tarrant County, through North Richland Hills and Grapevine, and into DFW International Airport’s Terminal B.
