Gorrondona Engineering Services, Inc. (GES) is a Houston-based privately held Texas corporation specializing in geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing and inspection (CMT). GES owns and operates truck-, buggy-, and track-mounted drilling rigs and maintains full-service geotechnical and CMT laboratories in Houston and Fort Worth accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) and AASHTO. With a staff of 100+, including engineers, project managers, technicians, and support staff, we are positioned to handle any area project, small to large. Since 2006, we have successfully completed thousands of projects throughout the state of Texas and serviced private and public clients across multiple industries. Purpose  
The Vice President/Principal Engineer will be an expert Geotechnical Engineer with business acumen. He or she will utilize their expertise to expand GES services locally and statewide while maintaining quality services.  
 
General Information 
The Vice President will be involved in expansion and all aspects of business development in Dallas, Fort Worth and other Texas cities. The job will require ability to oversee and provide geotechnical engineering, consulting, leadership, business development and customer service with clients in multiple business locations.


Typical roles and responsibilities 

  • Provide leadership in marketing, sales and business development. Develop and maintain client relationships, attend industry organization meetings, seasonal functions and parties, development of new client base.
  • Design and develop new business locations. Develop and implement business plans.
  • Develop, direct, and manage engineering team; maintain volume of engineers/staff required for job completion. Project future staffing requirements for multiple business sites. 
  • Lead and direct engineering team projects.
  • Ensure quality assurance, quality improvement and safety standards are maintained, monitored and optimized.
  • Provide oversight for subcontractors, and geotechnical staff on multi-disciplined projects and work within multi-disciplined team environment. Provide expert trouble-shooting. 
  • Provide consistent and expert communication between engineering team and clients. 
  • Oversee metrics related to revenue growth, project billing, expenses, collections and profitability.
  • Evaluate progress on current projects and business goals, analyze results and recommend changes to meet objectives.


Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering emphasis. Excellent communication/customer skills and writing skills. Prefer 15+ years of experience which should include: complex geotechnical engineering expertise, history of progressive management responsibility and a proven record of business and client development.
